LOGWORLD Contract, August 23, 2006. YAHSGS has received a GSA Logistics Worldwide Schedule Contract. Clients throughout government can now obtain YAHSGS services using the GSA Schedule Contract No. GS-10F-0384S. YAHSGS is approved to provide services in
Acquisition Logistics, and Supply and Value
Chain Management. The GSA schedule provides a simplified, streamlined procurement process with labor rates that have already been reviewed and determined by GSA to be fair and reasonable.

YAHSGS Awarded Basic Ordering Agreement,
May 26, 2004. YAHSGS has been awarded a Basic
Ordering Agreement from White Sands Missile
Range, Contract No. W9124Q-04-G-0041. This no
fee contract vehicle can be utilized by any
government agency to obtain YAHSGS’ services.

YAHSGS Recognized for
Contribution to NRC Rule, March 30, 2004. Dr. Katherine Yuracko was recognized by the U.S.
Department of Energy for her contributions to a
Nuclear Regulatory Commission Rule. Dr. Yuracko
performed life cycle analyses for a DOE study
entitled "The Impacts of Eliminating
Double-Containment Requirements for Plutonium."
According to DOE, this very important study was
instrumental in NRC’s decision. On January 26, 2004,
the NRC issued a Final Rule revising 10 CFR Part
71-Packaging and Transportation of Radioactive
Material. The new rule eliminated the need for
double containment packages for plutonium and
removed PU-238 from the fissile material definition.
The NRC cited extensively the study results of Dr.
Yuracko’s life cycle analysis.

YAHSGS Wins Entrepreneurial Award, March 16, 2004. YAHSGS was recognized with a 2004
Entrepreneurial Award from the Richland Rotary Club.
Richland Rotary Club instituted the Entrepreneurial
Award Program in 1997 to recognize the importance of
entrepreneurial spirit in the community for future
economic diversification. YAHSGS was nominated for
the award by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

YAHSGS CEO Meets with Bush Economic Team,
February 17, 2004. Dr. Katherine Yuracko, CEO of YAHSGS,
participated today in a roundtable discussion with
Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao, Treasury
Secretary John W. Snow, Commerce Secretary Don
Evans, and SBA Administrator Hector Barreto. U.S.
Congressmen Doc Hastings and George Nethercutt, Jr.
also participated in the roundtable discussion. Dr.
Yuracko joined 15 other women entrepreneurs from the
Pacific Northwest to discuss with the Bush Economic
Team government programs and policies of importance
to small business owners, including government
regulations and government procurement policy,
access to capital, affordable health care, and
retirement security.

YAHSGS Awarded Sixth SBIR/STTR Award,
February 20, 2004. YAHSGS was awarded a Small Business Technology
Transfer (STTR) grant from the National Institute of
Environmental Health Sciences to continue its ground
breaking research in toxicogenomics. This grant
represents YAHSGS’ sixth SBIR/STTR award – further
recognition of YAHSGS as one of the leading 8(a)
firms for technical expertise and innovation in the
nation. YAHSGS has previously received SBIR/STTR
awards from the National Science Foundation,
National Institutes of Health, U.S. Air Force, and
the U.S. Department of Energy.

YAHSGS Certified as an 8(a), Small
Disadvantaged Business, July 25, 2003. YAHSGS has received certification by the U.S.
Small Business Administration as an 8(a), Small
Disadvantaged Business. The SBA’s 8(a) Business
Development Program, named for a section of the
Small Business Act, is a business development
program created to help small disadvantaged
businesses compete in the American economy and
access the federal procurement market.

YAHSGS Authors Report to Congress, July 8, 2002. U.S. Department of Energy Assistant Secretary
Roberson submitted to the U.S. Congress a report
prepared by YAHSGS LLC on the cost of waste
disposal. The report was prepared in response to a
Congressional request that the Department prepare an
objective analysis of the life cycle costs to
dispose of the DOE’s low-level and mixed low-level
radioactive waste at the various federal and
commercial disposal options. YAHSGS was hired by the
DOE to perform an independent life cycle analysis of
waste disposal costs. The report sets forth YAHSGS’
life cycle analysis of commercial and DOE low-level
waste disposal practices considering license/permit
limitations and costs of waste handling, packaging,
characterization, transportation, disposal, and
long-term stewardship.

YAHSGS CEO Appointed to National Academies
Committee, May 17, 2002. Dr. Katherine Yuracko, CEO of YAHSGS LLC, has been
appointed as a member of the National Academies
Committee on Source Removal of Contaminants in the
Subsurface. The goal of the Committee is to provide
advice on cleanup strategies for subsurface
contamination. Specifically, the Committee is
conducting a two-year study on the effectiveness of
source remediation for cleaning up contaminated
groundwater and soil at hazardous waste sites.
Certain aggressive technologies, including in situ
chemical oxidation, thermal treatment, and
surfactant flushing, are increasingly popular as a
way to achieve partial or complete reduction of
contaminant mass at sites across the country. Little
is known about the overall impact of such efforts on
groundwater quality and other parameters. The study
is focusing on recalcitrant organic compounds,
including dense non-aqueous phase liquids and
chemical explosives.

YAHSGS President Recognized for Leadership in
Hanford Cleanup, 08/01/2002. Bill Hewitt, President of YAHSGS LLC, received an
award for leadership from Keith A. Klein, Manager,
U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Richland Operations
Office; Harry L. Boston, Manager, DOE Office of
River Protection; Tom Fitzsimmons, Director, State
of Washington Department of Ecology; and Mike
Gearheard, Director, Office of Environmental
Cleanup, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The
award recognized Mr. Hewitt’s contribution to the
Department of Energy, Department of Ecology, and the
Environmental Protection Agency reaching an
agreement on accelerating Hanford cleanup.

YAHSGS CEO Named to DOE Top-to-Bottom Review, 08/01/2001. Dr. Katherine Yuracko, CEO of YAHSGS LLC, was named
a member of the U.S. Department of Energy
Top-to-Bottom Review Team. The Secretary of Energy
has called for a Top-to-Bottom Review of the
Environmental Management Program. The review is to
include an assessment of the Office of Environmental
Management (EM) cleanup strategy as implemented at
each of the major EM cleanup locations throughout
the United States. The major objective of this
review is to ensure the cleanup strategy is
responsive to national priorities and the
expenditure of government funds at each of the EM
cleanup locations supports these priorities.
